Rolfe and Shanda will host the family reunion at their farm on Labor Day weekend, Sunday August 31st.  Arrival time can be 1 pm or after and we will eat at the usual time around  4:00 pm in the afternoon.  

 

Please bring a dish and/or a dessert to share, and if you have a special beer or other drink you are crazy about - bring it.  They have some chairs, but not enough for everyone, so bringing an extra lawn chair would be appreciated. 

 

They will provide plates, cups, napkins, silverware, ice tea, lemonade, water, brats for grilling, buns, ketchup, mustard, etc. - all that usual stuff.   Maybe our sweet corn will be ready  by that time.

 

Bring a family story that you would like to share  and if you don't have a story - bring a joke   :)  For those that stay late we will have a bonfire.

 

DIRECTIONS TO HOMEPLACE FARM:

 From the Chicago land area:

 Get to I-57 South.   Once you get to the Kankakee area you have to get off at Exit 308 and  pick up Rt.45/52.. Once you exit you will hit Rt. 45/52.  Turn right and head South on Rt. 45/52.

 After approximately 14 miles or so you will come to a large 4 way stop w/a blinking overhead light. This is the intersection of Rt. 45/52 and Rt. 49.

 At this point CONTINUE GOING SOUTH – THE ROAD BECOMES RT. 49.  Do NOT turn left or right at this intersection.  Just continue South on Rt 49 until you come to Crescent City. 

 At the 4 way stop in Crescent you will hit Rt. 24.  Turn left on Rt. 24 and head East. 

 Go approximately  3 miles and look for 1700 E/ 1800 N road (this road is on the right side/South side of Rt. 24.   Note:  there is an old boat factory right before our road with 2 fairly large buildings – there is “stuff” just sitting all around – that’s the flag that our road is coming up.

 Turn right and head South on 1700 E 1800 N road, and proceed approx. ¾ of a mile.  Our farm is on the right.
